R22 - Load, balance and servicing

The test consists of 10 questions and you are given 10' to complete the test.

Each time an item of equipment is installed or removed:

an entry must be made and the new moment must be determined on the W&B record.

a new entry is not necessary to be made

an entry must be made but there is no need for a new moment calculation

The R-22 helicopter:

does not incorporate fatigue life limited components

incorporates a number of fatigue life limited components which must be retired at specified time intervals

incorporates a number of fatigue life limited components which should be replaced at owner’s discretion

For pushing the helicopter on the ground:

One of the vertical frame tubes may be used

The tail skid may be used

The outboard part of the horizontal stabilizer may be used

To clean the main or tail rotor blade:

Blow compressed air into main rotor blade tip drain holes only

Blow compressed air into blade tip drain holes

Never Blow compressed air into blade tip drain holes

Smoking:

is allowed provided eyes, face and other exposed areas are protected

is allowed near battery

is not allowed near battery

When determining the Lateral CG position consider:

all items on the left or right as positive

all items on the right as positive and those on the left as negative

all items on the left as positive and those on the right as negative

If fuel contamination is suspected:

continue to drain fuel until all contamination is eliminated

cancel the flight and defuel

add the proper fuel additive to tanks

The helicopter should be hangared or moved to a safe area:

whenever wind velocities higher than 20 MPH are forecast

whenever wind velocities higher than 30 MPH are forecast

during storm conditions

It is usually:

necessary to determine the lateral CG position

not necessary to determine the lateral CG position as long as 2 persons are on board

not necessary to determine the lateral CG position

The fuel is located aft of the CG of the helicopter causing the CG:

False, the CG does not move at all on the R-22

to move aft during flight

to move forward during flight
